Chevy Freeform HMI Concept

Towards the end of 2020, I was working with Rightpoint supporting General Motors on a conceptual project for a freeform, dual-screen display system.  This would be the basis for the creative direction that would carry into the model year 2023 and 2024 vehicles for Chevy.

Creative Director: Scott Martin (GM)
UI Designer: KI Hyun Ahn (GM)
UI Designer: Gustav Gerlach (GM)
UI/UX Designer: Joaquin Grimaldo (Rightpoint)
UX/UI/Motion Designer:  Wayne Porter (Rightpoint)

Below is the promotional concept video for the experience direction.  This was a missive collaboration between the designers on the GM Creative Direction team and myself to bring their vision to life.  We spent weeks working together to refine the design, which I then took into C4D and After Effects to create this HMI concept video.

These are some early concepts I made to support the team while we were designing the experience.
I was in charge of designing the Drive Modes feature as well as coming up with the motion language for the rest of the HMI.
This was an incredible opportunity and I am looking forward to seeing how it evolves with the upcoming line of Chevy vehicles.
Thank you.
